Custom / Private Label

Alternative offers a custom program to assist you in creating your unique t-shirt styles. You may only need something simple, like producing one of our existing styles in a new color, or you may need something complex, like designing a completely new piece. Here are a few of the options that we offer with our Custom Apparel Program:

Apparel minimums and lead times

In-stock fabric*:

  • Men's style minimum: 1200 pieces per style per color, 100 pieces per size**
  • Women's style minimum: 1800 pieces per style per color, 100 pieces per size**
  • Sample lead time: 2 weeks
  • Bulk lead time after sample approval: 6 weeks domestic production, 8-12 weeks overseas production

Other fabrics:

  • Minimum (women's and men's): 4800 pieces per style, 1200 per color, 432 per size***
  • Sample lead-time: 2-3 weeks
  • Bulk lead time after sample approval: 90-120 days

Additional Information:

  • Samples can not be processed until purchase order is received for production. Purchase orders may be submitted pending sample approval and will not be processed until samples are approved in writing.
  • Samples will be provided in spec requested; however, some colors and fabrics may not be available for samples due to fabric minimums. In such cases, swatches will be provided for approval in addition to a garment sample made in available fabric.
  • Lead-times are estimated based upon receipt of order and sample approvals.
  • There is a charge for sample runs for 6 pieces. Price will be determined at time of order.
  • Lab dips for custom color matching are $25 per color. Sample dye loads will be charged $75 per load per color in addition to the cost of the garment.
  • Pattern fees are $25 per style for development.
  • All orders ship within +/- 5% of quantity ordered. Customer will be billed for actual quantity shipped.
  • Custom ordered require a 50% deposit at sample approval.
  • Alternative is not responsible for delays due to freight or customs clearance.

Headwear minimums and lead times

  • In-stock fabric* and color minimums: 10,000 pieces per style, 600 pieces per color
  • Non-stock fabrics and color minimums: 10,000 pieces per style, 5,000 pieces per color
  • Sample lead-time: 2-3 weeks
  • Bulk lead time after sample approval: 90-120 days
